LBC Projects + Editions New Publication

I am extremely excited to announce the new publication by LBC Projects + Editions, Little Houses, Personal Landmarks by Nic Nicosia. Originally shot in 1980, Nicosia’s vivid shots of quaint homes and provincial town life still remain penetratingly fresh and relevant. The series contains photographs of shanty homes and crumbled small town establishments, such as a Mr. Frosty and a Howdy Doody gas station. Nicosia does a superb job of transforming these mundane and stoic scenes, to colorfully charged photographs that are sweetly nostalgic and are reminiscent of a simpler time.

In the early 1980’s, Nicosia made a name for himself by establishing the staged photographic movement. Having graduated with a degree in Radio-TV-Film, Nicosia developed a cinematic mind-set that is readily seen in his most famous works. Little Houses, Personal Landmarks is one of the first projects in which Nicosia implemented this notion. By painting over the photographs, Nicosia manipulated the images for a more dramatic and personal effect.

While Little Houses, Personal Landmarks would make a wonderful addition to any art collection, it is ideal for collectors who have limited wall space. The publication offers a set of 10 varied photographs, all of which are packaged in a stunning Plexiglas box. As the collector, you have the option to choose which photographs to showcase. Meanwhile, the remaining photographs can remain in its box and serve as a beautiful coffee table book. And, or the entire or partial edition could be framed.
