Just returned from Expo Chicago and found, purchased, and placed several pieces of art for clients and LBC Projects + Editions!
It was a three day marathon, but well worth the effort...a BEAUTIFUL Fair filled with great galleries from all over the world.
We stayed at the Langham Hotel, which was a treat in itself. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are going to the Windy City!
This is one of my favorite works purchased from the fair. It is hard to see all of the intricacies, but the combination of the diamond dust, bright green background, and butterfly wings makes it a masterpiece. Check out the detail below:

Here is information on the artist:
Alan Magee, born in Newton, PA, attended The Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia. In 1968, he began working as an editorial and book illustrator in New York. Among his regular clients were Time Magazine, The Atlantic, New York Magazine, and The New York Times.
Since 1966 he has had one-person shows throughout the United States and Europe.
Alan Magee has received numerous awards for his paintings and his work is in many public collections including The Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco, The Art Institute of Chicago, Portland Museum of Art, DeCordova Museum, Huntington Museum of Art, Newark Art Museum, and Columbus Museum of Art. He currently lives and works in Maine.
The San Francisco dealer Jessica Silverman has a knack for putting together memorable booths at art fairs, and her selection of paintings by the Canadian-born, Berlin-based artist Shannon Finley was a knockout, presenting a suite of abstractions that the artist created by using a palette knife to apply acrylic that he mixed with gels for a satiny, opalescent effect. Referencing a wide swath of visual culture, from Futurism and the work of artists like Gerhard Richter to early video game design, the work is only the gallery's second presentation of the 30-something artist, who was recently featured in a rare paintings show at Berlin's KW Institute for Contemporary Art and is getting a tremendous amount of interest from curators and collectors.
And much to my surprise when I returned home, my new Nic Nicosia was delivered and installed:
